MERCIBEL CASSAVA FLOUR (MERCIBEL) is a Small Scale Industry registered by BRELA with Certificate No. 404519 of 2nd February 2016 and approved by Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO) with a Business Licence No.2527168. The production commenced in May 2016.
We are producing organic cassava flour. We undertake Value addition to the cassava raw materials which are sourced directly from agricultural groups and individual farmers who form the chain for the supply to the industry.
As a forward linkage to the value addition chain, the cassava flour can be used to produce a range of products such as cakes, noodles, bread, doughnuts, chapatti, biscuits and many more.
The MERCIBEL CASSAVA FLOUR has been certified and registered by the Tanzania Food and Drug Authority (TFDA) vide Registration No. TFDA0116/F/PRE/REG/0467 of 30 June 2017. We are awaiting the certification of Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) who is in the final process.
Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS), Tanzania Food and Drugs Authority (TFDA), Small Industries Development Organisation (SIDO), Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) are Regulatory and scientific, research and specialist institutions where we draw expertise and standards for the production of the cassava flour.
The cassava flour is being sold in Dar es Salaam and its peripherals, Arusha, Moshi and Coast regions and Zanzibar. Recently, we have tried the Comoro and Mombasa- Kenya markets. The aim is to sale the cassava flour to the whole of Tanzania and export outside the country.
